JAQ can be installed on either Linux or Windows servers.

Linux Servers.

JAQ Software can offer a fully managed Linux server option, thanks to our partners at Orion Online. This highly recommended service is available for any Linux servers, either supplied by Orion Online or another vendor. The JAQ licence fee would be increased $20 per week to include the following services...

• Daily checking of server log files for any possible issues that could indicate a security or performance issue.
• Daily local backup. These are hidden, protecting them from Ransomware attacks.
• Daily off site backups of your critical data. Conditions apply.
• Email notifications of any issues, and a phone call for anything urgent.

Note: A internet connection with sufficient bandwidth and cloud storage is required for the managed server service.

Linux servers makes sense for the following reasons....

• Its cheaper, no Windows OS or Licence fees.
• Its more secure, the threat of attack from Ransomware or hackers is greatly minimised compared to a Windows server.
• Its slightly faster for the same hardware.

Or, you can supply your own hardware and let us install CentOS and JAQ for $300, excluding any delivery fees.

Windows Servers.

JAQ runs just as well on a Windows server as it does on a Linux server, and if you already have a Windows server for your business, this would be the better option. However if you need to upgrade or add servers at a later date, we would recommend a Linux server.

At this time we dont offer a managed server service for Windows servers, but JAQ Software can make recommendations on hardware suppliers and PC technicians, please contact us to discuss.
